Calm at the Core brings mindfulness and compassion practices to educators, parents, care givers, and students - so that they may thrive and be their best selves - so they may find calm and balance amidst the daily challenges that life brings in our modern day.

Education standardization initiatives are the cause a great deal of added stress for administration, teachers, students, and sometimes even parents. Couple this with the complexities of the 21 century world we live in and it is clear we must find balance in order to thrive. While we work together towards finding meaning and purpose during these times, it is imperative that we find calm within ourselves so that we can best go about our educative practices with connected inspiration. If we are to create more peaceful, engaged, equitable, compassionate and resilient school communities we must care for ourselves and each other. We must listen to the truths that we know and not waver from these truths because of others who are somehow misguided. 21st century learning needs to come from a place of connection and true compassion, so that our future generations can properly care for the world we live in. Our current modes of education reform tend to be a distraction. Calm at the Core's intention is to remind us of these truths and bring our attention back to what truly matters.

*This time of COVID 19 has presented to us the opportunity to truly attend to self care and to the care of others - so that we may truly focus on what matters. If in this time we choose not to make much needed changes in our education system, then we have missed the opportunity of a lifetime.
